About Alyssa
Alyssa Homewood, PA-C, is a physician assistant specializing in orthopedic shoulder care. A Cedar Rapids, Iowa native, Alyssa completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Northern Iowa, where she also competed as a diver on the women’s swimming and diving team. She went on to earn her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Iowa.
Driven by a passion for helping patients recover from acute injuries and return to their active lifestyles, Alyssa chose a career in orthopedics to provide comprehensive care through both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options. Her clinical focus includes treating shoulder conditions such as rotator cuff injuries, shoulder instability, arthritis, labral tears, biceps injuries, and fractures of the upper arm and shoulder.
Alyssa finds the most rewarding part of her role to be helping patients regain pain-free movement and return to the hobbies and activities they love. She is committed to delivering personalized, compassionate care that supports each patient’s individual goals and recovery journey.
Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys traveling, staying active outdoors, exercising, and spending quality time with her husband, Brandon. She also continues to share her love for diving by coaching high school athletes in the sport.
