Dr. Blake Hale is a board-certified podiatrist. He is originally from Bondurant, Iowa.
Dr. Hale received his doctorate from Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and completed surgical residency training at Truman Medical Center, Lakewood in Kansas City, Missouri. He was named Chief Resident during residency.
In his spare time, Dr. Hale enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and family. He also enjoys playing golf, BBQ, and college football.

Dr. Blake Hale and his care team have provided excellent care from day one. Very kind, respectful, and excellent follow through with a willingness to help problem solve. I sprained my ankle badly in April, and Dr. Blake has provided excellent care and solutions to help me keep improving and moving. Sadly, I ended up haing to have surgery on my ankle, but even through that process it has been one of the smoothest surgery experiences I have ever had. The surgery was at Iowa Ortho River Hills Surgery Center. They have it down to an art there. I am so appreciative of the whole care team. They all deserve 12+ stars! Thank you! I am on the road to recovery and I hope all goes well from here forward.

I had a really good experience with Dr. Hale.I was treated for a pretty medicaiton-resistant toenail fungus. His office helped me get a more expensive medication that my own insurance couldn’t cover, so I appreciate that. He listens and has good bedside manner.

So impressed with Dr. Hale and the team that supports him. After cortisone injections were no longer effective, my discomfort required surgery. The Iowa Ortho in Johnston, and the Iowa Ortho Grimes Surgical location were top notch. The timeliness and professionalism exhibited by all team members from checking in, to the anesthesiologist, each person was knowledgeable, patient and enjoyable to work with. This has been consistent during the many visits leading up to and following surgery. Dr. Hale’s work was flawless, allowing me to get back to normal in no time, giving very clear instructions on restrictions along the way. It’s apparent the culture within their team is a priority, which is uncommon in the medical field these days but very much appreciated.

Had a 40 year old dormant anaerobic pathogens become active. The ensuing infection required two surgeries and now I’m on the way to recovery. I explained the issue to a couple of doctors and their diagnosis was gout. Dr. Hale listened and followed up with digging, finding pus, and taking samples for cultures.
