This was my first visit with Iowa Ortho and Dr. Galles. He seems extremely knowledgeable, straightforward and very personable. He was very honest that if I wanted surgery that I needed to eliminate nicotine in order to heal properly. I really appreciated his honesty! I will be working on reducing vaping from 6 mg to 0 mg nicotine in order to get my surgery. In the meantime, he recommended using graphite inserts. I had an extremely positive experience with this first visit!

Dr Galles and Paige, Dr Galles’ AP, are the absolute best! Dr Galles and Paige have performed 2 major surgeries in the past year on my foot and ankle. I have gone from severe pain 24/7 and limited mobility, for many years to no pain and being able to walk without assistance. In addition to being very skilled surgeons, both are personable, caring, compassionate, and terrific support systems for pre and post surgical care. Dr Gallas operator on my left foot December 6th of this year. I has a hammer toe that had developed over the last 12 years. I had a bunion removed June of 2011. I had the start of a hammer toe. I arrived at iowa ortho 20 minutes early and was seen by dr galles a few minutes earlier than my appointment time. dr galles was very straightforward and helpful as i had seen two other podiatrists and basically received no solutions other than wearing a walking boot . he diagnosed my foot problem as plantar fascitus and suggested that I try a pair of elevated arch supports as i have flat feet . i have worn the arch supports for two days and the foot pain has not been nearly as intense as it was before . i wish i had seen dr galles in the onset of my search for a podiatrist as he is honest about answering questions and does his best for helping his patients get relief instead of offering temporary relief.

Dr Galles has a wonderful bedside presence, genuine concern for the patient and a sense of urgency to fix the problem. I am a long haul truck driver and thought i sprained my ankle it took me 3 days to get home and get checked out at primary dr only to be told i broke my leg. Throw in a holiday weekend and i was able to meet with Dr Galles on 1st work day after, we decided surgery was necessary not just a compression boot, the very next morning i was in surgery. I went to Dr. Galles for a second opinion on my foot issue, and I was so impressed with his knowledge and the way he took the time to explain what the cause was, and what he recommended. He didn’t act like he was in a hurry like some doctors do. He brought in a paper copy of my Xray and proceeded to draw and write on it, showing me exactly what he would do surgically, explaining and writing out the names of the procedures. Dr Galles was instrumental in diagnosing a Rare Genetic Condition I have. I Struggle with my severe Issues but most were blamed on my Spine. Dr. Gallas treated me for pain in my toes on my left foot. My first appointment with him we tried a few different things to relieve the pain without considering surgery. After some further tests a period of continued pain, we discussed surgery on my left foot. Before the surgery I was explained the process 4 recovery and it was explained all the details of what I should expect prior to having the surgery scheduled. Dr. Galles has performed 3 surgeries on my son, who had a crush injury to his right foot. The trauma surgeon who completed the first surgery said he wasn’t sure if he would be able to save the foot. I had ankle fusion surgery two weeks ago Dr. Gallas and I discussed my options and felt this was the best way for me to go. I totally trust Dr. Galles.
