Luke’s Story

When Luke, a local high school athlete, suffered a serious leg injury on the football field last spring, the Iowa Ortho team was there from the very beginning. Iowa Ortho’s Dr. Tim Vinyard, who happened to be volunteering on the sidelines that day, immediately stepped in to coordinate care and ensure Luke received prompt treatment.

The next morning, Iowa Ortho’s Dr. Chinedu Nwosa performed the necessary procedure, setting the stage for a strong recovery. From there, Luke began working with Iowa Ortho’s physical therapy team to regain strength and mobility.

Under the guidance of Iowa Ortho physical therapist Chase Morrison and with the continued support of Dr. Nwosa, Luke made tremendous progress. The Iowa Ortho PT staff worked closely with the family to provide consistent, personalized care, often going above and beyond to accommodate his schedule and recovery goals.

After months of hard work through the summer and fall, the dedication paid off; Luke returned to the field stronger than ever. Chase and members of the Iowa Ortho PT team even came out to cheer him on during one of his games, celebrating his incredible comeback.

“We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Iowa Ortho,” his mother shared. “Everyone, from the surgeons to the physical therapy staff, has been incredible. We’re so thankful for their dedication to helping our son get back to the sport he loves.”

At Iowa Ortho, we’re proud to help athletes of all ages get back in the game — and back to doing what they love most.
