I started out being diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both knees about 6 years ago and through the VA. The orthopedic surgeon recommended that I get total knee replacement surgery. It was bad enough that shots and therapy weren’t working. I was 99% bone on bone in both knees. I was referred to Dr. Beecher and under his recommendation that to relieve the pain total knee replacement surgery was what I needed.
On October 1st of 2025, I went in for my surgery, and I felt completely at ease with the upcoming surgery. After the procedure was completed, therapy began, and Dr. Beecher stated that therapy would be my full-time job. In January of 2026, it was decided that I would have my second total knee replacement surgery, and on February 25th, I went in again, and this time I was ready. Again, my main job after surgery was therapy.
Since surgery(s), I can move more easily than before without the grinding pain. My goal for a year from now is to attempt to do RAGBRI. I am so very pleased with Dr. Beecher and the Iowa Ortho therapy team for getting me up and moving. Photography is my go-to for moving and relaxation.
