Carter

Carter Trager is a physical therapist at Iowa Ortho in Des Moines. He grew up in Grimes, Iowa, and earned his undergraduate degree from Central College before completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy at Clarke University.

Carter joined Iowa Ortho with a strong background in outpatient care, with an emphasis in sports medicine rehabilitation. He has served as the lead team physical therapist for West Des Moines Valley and Drake University, and has also worked with Simpson College and multiple professional athletes, helping guide them through the rehabilitation process.

Carter chose a career in physical therapy because of his passion for helping others overcome obstacles and achieve their personal and mobility goals. He specializes in sports medicine and enjoys working with athletes to return them to competition as quickly and safely as possible using evidence-based practice and movement-based diagnosis. He also works with post-surgical and general orthopedic patients, helping them get back to work and daily life.

Outside of work, Carter enjoys spending time with his wife, kids, and dog. He also enjoys traveling, golfing, bike riding, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and following the Atlanta Braves.
