Anneliese’s Story
Anneliese’s Story

When Anneliese’s leg popped and collapsed in the midst of her track season, she knew something was seriously wrong. Anneliese was a sophomore track and softball athlete at Saydel High school and wanted to participate in athletics in college.

After seeking physical therapy first, Anneliese was referred to see Dr. Vincent at Iowa Ortho. Dr. Vincent ordered an MRI which revealed that she had torn her ACL, medial meniscus, and lateral meniscus. Anneliese was going to need extensive reconstructive surgery including a double menisectomy.

The road to recovery after such an injury and surgery was long, however Anneliese returned to her athletic career better than ever. Two days following her release from physical therapy, Anneliese broke the Saydel discus record. By senior year, Anneliese broke and re-broke the discus, shot-put, and home-run school records.

Anneliese is now a student at Luther College participating in track and softball. She is 100% pain free and credits this to Dr. Vincent and her physical therapist.
